LED and Glow Sign Boards in Palakollu

In short

Backlit glow boards start at 210 rupees per square foot and acrylic letters lit from behind at 320. Both take five to ten working days because the modules are spaced and wired by hand. The board arrives with its driver and a wiring diagram, and your electrician makes the final connection.

A lit board earns its cost only if the shop trades after dark. Medical shops, hotels, clinics with evening hours and anything on a road people drive rather than walk. If the shutter is down by seven, an ACP board costs less than half and reads just as well in daylight. We say this to about a third of the people who ask us for a glow board, and roughly half of them change their mind.

Every board ships with a driver rated above its load and a wiring diagram. Electrical connection and the point itself are the customer side. We do not do electrical work.

How it works, step by step

  1. Decide whether you actually need light

    10 minutes

If the shop shuts before dark, an ACP board at 85 rupees per square foot does the same job for less than half. We will tell you that rather than sell you the more expensive board.

  2. Site measurement and power point

    1 day

We measure the frame and check where the power point is. A board on a wall with no nearby point means your electrician runs a line, and it is better to know that now than on installation day.

  3. Design and proof

    1 to 2 days

We show the board lit and unlit. A design that reads well in daylight can go muddy when it is backlit, because the colours behave differently with light coming through rather than bouncing off.

  4. Fabrication and module wiring

    4 to 8 days

Modules are spaced by hand at the pitch the depth requires. Too far apart and you get visible bright spots. This is the part that cannot be rushed.

  5. Installation and handover

    half a day

We fit and align. Your electrician connects. We hand over the driver, the diagram and the spare modules that came with the batch.

What goes wrong with lit boards, and why

  • Bright spots come from module spacing against board depth, not from cheap LEDs. A shallow box needs modules closer together. A board that shows a row of glowing dots through the face was built too shallow for its spacing, and it cannot be fixed without opening the face.
  • Ask what the driver is rated at. A driver running at its exact limit fails inside a year in this heat. We fit drivers rated above the load, which costs a few hundred rupees more and is the difference between a board that lasts and one you call us about next summer.
  • Direct afternoon sun washes out a lit board completely. If the board faces west, the light is doing nothing for the hours it is brightest, and the money would be better spent on a larger ACP board.
  • Keep the spare modules that come with the batch. LED colour shifts slightly between production batches, so a module fitted two years later from a different batch is visibly a different white. We tape the spares inside the board for this reason.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an LED glow sign board cost in Palakollu?

Backlit flex boards are 210 rupees per square foot, acrylic faced boards 260, and acrylic letters with halo lighting 320. An eight by four foot backlit board works out to about 6,720 rupees plus the frame.

How long does an LED sign board take to make?

Five to seven days for a backlit flex board, seven to ten for acrylic letters. The module wiring is done by hand at the spacing the board depth requires, and rushing that is what produces visible bright spots.

Do you do the electrical connection?

No. We fit the board and hand over the driver and a wiring diagram. Your own electrician makes the final connection and provides the point. We do not take on electrical work.

Why does my old glow board show bright dots?

The modules are spaced too far apart for the depth of the box. It is a build fault rather than a failing LED, and correcting it means opening the face and refitting the modules at a closer pitch.

Is a glow board worth it if my shop closes early?

Usually not. If the shutter is down before dark, an ACP board at 85 rupees per square foot reads just as well in daylight for less than half the cost. We say this to about a third of the people who ask.

Can you repair an existing LED board?

Yes. Replacement module strips are 340 rupees per running foot and most repairs are done in one to two days. Bring the board in if it can be taken down, otherwise we come to the site.
