Frequently asked questions
Which is better for a coastal home, acrylic or MDF?
Acrylic. It is non porous, so it does not absorb the atmospheric moisture that makes MDF swell and bow. MDF is fine on a dry interior wall and costs less, which is why gallery wall sets are usually MDF. Near a damp wall, choose acrylic.
Does it come ready to hang?
Yes. Acrylic frames ship with steel standoff bolts, MDF frames have a keyhole slot on the back, and multi piece sets include a paper template so you can mark the wall before drilling.
How do I clean it?
A dry or slightly damp soft cloth. Never spirit, thinner or glass cleaner on printed acrylic. Ammonia hazes the surface permanently and it cannot be polished out.
